5 Days Nagarkot Adventure — Hike, Bungee & Rafting

Three activities, five days, one seamless adventure. This package links Nepal's best short hike, its most famous bungy jump, and a white-water rafting run through a Himalayan gorge — all within striking distance of Kathmandu.

Day 1 starts at Changunarayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating to the 4th century CE, before a 12 km hike through terraced farmland and rhododendron forest to Nagarkot at 2,195m. The views from Nagarkot on a clear evening reveal a 180-degree Himalayan panorama — Mt. Everest at 8,848m is visible on the eastern horizon, with Langtang and Ganesh Himal to the north.

Day 2 descends 6 km to Dhulikhel, a medieval Newar town with views across the Solu Khumbu range, before a 1.5-hour drive up to The Last Resort. Perched at the edge of the Bhotekoshi gorge — 160m above the river — The Last Resort runs the highest bungy jump in Nepal, a 160m freefall over churning Grade IV rapids.

Day 3 is dedicated to the jump and optional Canyon Swing. The Bhotekoshi Bungy uses a twin-wire safety system. The Canyon Swing gives a 200m pendulum arc above the gorge — equally exhilarating.

Day 4 brings white-water rafting on the Bhotekoshi — one of Nepal's steepest commercially-run rivers, with Grade III–IV+ rapids. The run takes approximately 3–4 hours before the drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 5 completes the circuit with a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu: Patan Durbar Square (UNESCO), Swayambhunath Stupa, and Boudhanath — the largest stupa in Nepal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the bungy jump height at The Last Resort?

The Last Resort's bungy is 160m above the Bhotekoshi River — the highest bungy jump in Nepal and one of the highest in Asia. The freefall lasts approximately 3–4 seconds before the cord engages.

What rafting grade is the Bhotekoshi River?

The Bhotekoshi is classified Grade III–IV+ depending on season and water levels. High-water months (July–September) push it towards Grade IV+. All rafting is guided by certified safety kayakers.

How fit do I need to be for the Nagarkot hike?

The hike from Changunarayan to Nagarkot covers approximately 12 km with 400m of net elevation gain. It suits anyone with moderate fitness and a pair of trail shoes. No technical climbing is involved. Day 2's descent to Dhulikhel (6 km) is gentler.

Can I skip the bungy and just do the rafting?

Yes. All activities at The Last Resort are optional. The package price covers accommodation and transfers; individual activity costs can be settled directly at The Last Resort. Let us know your preferences when booking.

What is the minimum age for bungy jumping?

The Last Resort requires participants to be at least 10 years old and between 35–150 kg. Children aged 10–17 require written parental consent.
