Nepal offers women travelers a rare combination: genuine adventure and cultural depth in a country that is warm and welcoming without being overwhelming. The Kathmandu Valley is one of the world's great cultural landscapes, with 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites concentrated within 30km and a Newari architectural tradition spanning 1,500 years. Pokhara is Nepal's most relaxed city - a lakeside town with the Annapurna range rising directly above, excellent cafes and wellness options, and the world's best paragliding launch site. Chitwan National Park delivers rhinoceros encounters at close range on jeep safari. Nepal's hill stations - Nagarkot, Bandipur, Dhulikhel - give Himalayan sunrise experiences without demanding trekking. The trekking regions of Annapurna, Everest and Langtang are accessible to women of all fitness levels. And Nepal's extraordinary network of women-led enterprises - the Seven Women organization in Kathmandu, women-managed homestays, women artisan cooperatives - means that a Nepal trip can also directly support women's economic empowerment in the communities you visit.
Getaway Nepal Adventure organizes women only Nepal tours for solo travelers, friend groups, sister trips, mother-daughter pairs and organized women's groups. All tours are private - your own vehicle, your own guide (female guide available on request), your own departure date - not a fixed-schedule group tour shared with strangers. The six packages below are the most popular frameworks: from a 5-day Kathmandu Valley cultural focus to a 15-day adventure covering trekking, wildlife and heritage. All are fully customizable to your group size, interests and pace. See our tailor-made holidays page for the custom design process, and our community-centered travel guide for women-led Nepal experiences worth including in any women only itinerary.
Yes - Nepal is considered one of the safer South Asian countries for solo women travelers. The main tourist areas (Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, trekking regions) are well-established and accustomed to international women travelers. Our women only tours use private vehicles throughout - no public transport - and licensed private guides. Female guides are available on request. Solo women travelers who prefer not to travel entirely alone can be matched with compatible small groups. Standard travel precautions apply: travel insurance with medical evacuation, keeping accommodation details private, and using reputable operators. Our guides manage logistics and accompany you throughout.
Nepal attracts women travelers at every life stage. Solo adventurers seeking an empowering first international experience. Women friend groups wanting a shared discovery holiday. Mother-daughter pairs marking milestones. Sisters celebrating anniversaries or birthdays together. Women over 50 looking for active cultural travel that doesn't require extreme fitness. And solo women who want the safety and social connection of traveling with other women without being locked into a rigid group schedule. Our senior tours page also covers considerations specific to women travelers over 60.
The Best of Nepal Tour (8 days) is our most popular mother-daughter package: Kathmandu Valley heritage, Chitwan safari (rhinoceros encounters are reliably thrilling for both generations) and Pokhara lakeside. The Experience Nepal Tour (7 days) is excellent for pairs who want beautiful hill station scenery without long drives. The Highlights of Nepal Tour (10 days) is the most complete mother-daughter journey, adding Bandipur and Lumbini. All tours move at your pace with private transport and guide.
Yes - Nepal has excellent women-led enterprises worth including on a women only itinerary. The Seven Women organization in Kathmandu runs a restaurant, guesthouse and craft enterprise staffed entirely by women from disadvantaged backgrounds - a visit directly supports women's economic empowerment. Women artisan cooperatives in Patan and the Kathmandu Valley sell traditional metalwork, weaving and pottery directly. Several community homestay programs in rural Nepal are run by women's cooperatives with revenue going directly to female participants. Let us know when you inquire and we design these experiences into your itinerary.
No special fitness is required for our standard cultural and sightseeing packages (5-10 days). The 15-day Adventure Tour includes the Poon Hill Trek (3,210m, 5-7 days of walking) which suits women of moderate walking fitness. The Namobuddha hike (included in the 9-day sightseeing tour) is 4-5 hours on gentle terrain suitable for most women. Nagarkot and Sarangkot sunrise viewpoints are accessible entirely by vehicle. We build in rest time and adjust pace to your group. If you have specific fitness considerations, mention them when you inquire and we design accordingly.
Yes - all six packages are starting frameworks. We design bespoke women only Nepal programs for any group size (even a group of one), budget, duration and activity mix. We can add trekking, include women-led community experiences, upgrade accommodation, add Lumbini pilgrimage or Bardia wildlife, or combine Nepal with Bhutan. See our tailor-made holidays page for the full process.
Tell us who is traveling (solo, group of friends, mother-daughter, sisters), your travel dates, group size and how many days you have. Female guide available on request. We respond within 24 hours.
