October to February gives the clearest Himalayan views. October and November are peak season with stable weather and post-monsoon clarity. December and January are cold at altitude but offer exceptional mountain visibility and very few other tourists - often the best months for the sunrise experience. March to May adds rhododendron blooms. The monsoon (June to September) reduces mountain visibility but the hills are brilliantly green.
