This 10-day program is designed for student groups that need team building with actual substance rather than manufactured obstacles. Four distinct activities require genuine group coordination: a collaborative Nepali cooking session on Day 3, three days of structured community project work in local neighbourhoods, a hiking day with an environmental trail cleanup component, and the logistics of navigating Kathmandu's heritage sites as a group with assigned responsibilities. None of these are optional extras. They're the program.
The cooking session runs on the third day and sets the tone. Groups prepare a full Nepali meal in teams with specific roles under the guidance of a local cook. It's a coordination exercise as much as a cultural one. The community project follows over three days: groups are divided into subteams with defined tasks including playground maintenance, painting, and interactive sessions with local community members. The hiking day includes an organized trail cleanup with waste collection targets set for each team.
The Kathmandu cultural component is not filler. Two days of properly guided UNESCO World Heritage site visits, covering Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath, give the group shared reference points and cultural foundation before the active program begins. The itinerary closes with reflection time and a free morning in Kathmandu before departure. For programs with a longer project component, see our service learning trip. For a program that adds a multi-day trek, see our school adventure tour.

What team building activities are included?
Four components: collaborative Nepali cooking (group coordination); 3-day community project (subgroup responsibilities); hiking with trail cleanup (environmental challenge requiring group planning); structured reflection sessions throughout. Success in each requires actual group coordination.
Is this suitable for university groups as well as schools?
Yes. The structure works for secondary school groups, university societies, student leadership programs, and gap year cohorts. Facilitation style and reflection frameworks adjust to the group's maturity level.
What is the Nepali cooking experience?
Groups prepare a full Nepali meal under guidance of a local cook, working in teams with specific roles. Covers traditional ingredients, techniques, and cultural context of Nepali food. As much a logistics coordination exercise as a cultural one.
Can the program be adjusted for specific learning objectives?
Yes. If your group has specific team dynamics, leadership development, or community engagement goals, we can adjust the program structure. Contact us with your objectives and group profile.
