Nepal School Adventure Tour: 14 Days from Kathmandu to Chitwan via Poon Hill

This 14-day program covers three distinct environments that don't usually sit on the same school trip: Nepal's UNESCO World Heritage city circuit in Kathmandu, a proper five-day mountain trek, and a wildlife safari in one of Asia's best national parks. School groups get genuine cultural depth in the cities, physical challenge on the trail, and close-range encounters with one-horned rhinos and wild elephants in Chitwan, all within a single itinerary.

The Kathmandu section runs two days and hits the major heritage sites: Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath. Then the group drives to Nagarkot for a ridge hike before dropping into Bhaktapur, the best-preserved medieval city in Nepal, where pottery and woodcarving workshops with local artisans make for better cultural content than any guided walk. From there it's Pokhara and the start of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, five days through dense rhododendron forest and Gurung villages to the famous sunrise viewpoint at 3,210m. Maximum altitude is manageable for any reasonably fit student group. No technical skills required.

Chitwan closes the program: two days of jungle activities including elephant-back and jeep safari, canoe rides on the Rapti River, and guided nature walks with trained naturalists. One-horned rhinos are near-certain sightings; leopards and sloth bears are possible. The program then returns to Kathmandu for departure. All group sizes from 10 to 50+ are manageable. For other student programs, see our service learning trips and team building programs.
