Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge

Offering an outdoor swimming pool, a lush green garden and a terrace, Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge is located in Pokhara. Free WiFi access is available in the public areas of this resort. Complimentary pick up from Pokhara airport is provided. The elegant accommodation will provide you with a balcony, desk and a seating area. Featuring a shower, private bathroom also comes with bathrobes. You can enjoy mountain view from the room. At Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge you will find a 24-hour front desk and a library. Other facilities offered at the property include a shared lounge, a ticket service and a tour desk. A range of walks by expert guides are available. If you feel like visiting the surroundings, check out Fewa Lake that is 15 km and International Mountain Museum is 12 km. This resort is 10.9 km from Pokhara Airport. The in-house kitchen serves local and International delights.

Service & facilities

Active or passive, Tiger Mountain is supremely adaptable. It makes for an excellent base for treks further afield, while the Lodge’s guides lead hikes in the immediate vicinity that take in flora, fauna and culture. At the opposite end of the scale, guests are encouraged to delve into the voluminous library, loll by the outdoor pool, and indulge in massage, meditation or yoga – all conducted by an expert practitioner. Wi-Fi is free, though a digital detox is part of the Lodge ethos.

Rooms

The 18 rooms are spread between 13 bungalows and can be arranged with double, twin and single beds – maximum occupancy is two adults and two children. Each room has a private veranda plus mountain view, en-suite bathroom, and locally made furniture, while the walls are hung with paintings by English watercolourist Luke Piper.

Hot water for the shower is either solar or electric powered, amenities are from WildEarth and Laavanya, both Kathmandu-based sustainable suppliers. Torches, umbrellas and fresh flowers are provided as a matter of course, as are books, playing cards, and board games. The earthquake alarm is rarely put into use, but its presence is reassuring. Staff can reveal Wi-Fi hotspots. Glory be, there are no televisions. Hotel Tiger Mountain Pokhara

Food & drink

As much food as possible is plucked from the organic garden and neighbouring farms. Meals are served in the main lodge’s dining room or on the terrace: breakfast is characterised by freshly baked bread and pastries, with Nepali jams, honey, tea and coffee. Lunch is a Nepali curry or Western-style soup, sandwiches or quiche, while afternoon tea is spiced up with herbal infusions or green tea from East Nepal.

Dinner can be either continental or Nepali, with warming soups served as the first course in the winter months. Picnic breakfasts and lunches are especially alluring, with masala omelette wraps and bacon sandwiches scoring consistently high. The bar – to quote Tiger Mountain’s literature – “is open throughout the day until the last guest retires”. Such encouragement. Hotel Tiger Mountain Pokhara
